BRIEF HISTORY OF PRETECH COMPANY

1. Pretech Company was originally established in 1987 as Pretech Industry Co., Ltd. in South Korea.

2. The company had manufactured and supplied automobile cables such as accelerator, transmission, and brake cables to Kia Motor Company from 1989 to 1995. Majority of parts the company manufactured was for the four-door passenger car model named, “Pride”, and the mini van named, “Bongo”. During that time, the company had manufactured over 5 million cables for Kia Motor Company.

3. Pretech Industry Co., Ltd. also manufactured and supplied control cables (43C & 43BC) to heavy equipment manufacturers such as Hyundai Motor Co. and Daewoo Motor Co. from 1989 to 1990.

4. In addition, the company has started to develop and distribute marine parts such as control cable and control lever since 1993 in South Korea. Currently, the company has about 80% of market share in South Korea.

5. In 1995, the domestic division (automobile parts) was sold, and the factory of Pretech Industry Co., Ltd. moved to current location. The name of the company was later changed to Pretech Company.

6. The company established its first foreign subsidiary office, Pretech America Company, in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. on November of 1999, and later incorporated as Marine Control Products, Inc. on January 5, 2001.

7. Pretech Company signed a sales and marketing contract with Tuthill Australia Pty. Ltd. to distribute marine and industrial products in Australia on November 1, 2000.

8. On January 1, 2002, the company introduces and launches complete line of marine products with the distributor, Hardin Marine, to be distributed in the United States.

9. On February 1, 2002, the company completed the development of Air Control Lever and Lawn Mower Cables (throttle) to be distributed in the world.

10. On April 12, 2002, the company agreed with TMJ Marketing Pte. Ltd. to distribute marine and industrial products in Singapore.

11. On July 15, 2002, Steering Cable Systems, STXPK2900 (Rotary) and STXPK2200 (Rack & Pinion), passed the certification test to meet or exceed A.B.Y.C., C.E. and ISO/CD Standards, and N.M.M.A. certification requirements where applicable.

12. On January 1, 2003, the company agreed with Rutherford Marine to distribute our complete line of marine products in South Africa.

13. Southern Cross Marine Ltd. in England and I.D. Trading, Inc. and Japan Parts Service, Inc. in Japan signed the sales agreement with Pretech to distribute marine products on April of 2003.

14. Exalto Holding Co. in the Netherlands and Friedrich Marx in Germany agreed to distribute our marine products on June of 2003.

15. Within the year 2003, total of 10 distributors in countries such as Portugal, Canada, Malaysia, Norway, New Zealand and UAE joined the network of global distributorship of Pretech Cables & Controls.

16. On January 1, 2004, launched the new brand logo of “MAXFLEX” control cable and “STEERFLEX” steering cable.

17. Pretech officially approved a distributor in Turkey and Italy in January of 2004.

18. Distributors from France, Spain, Mexico, and Greece became Pretech distributor in the summer of 2004.

19. Developed world’s first and only all Stainless Steel Rotary Steering Cable on June 15, 2004.

20. Fall 2004 Pretech secures services of William F. Miller & Associates of Nashville, Tennessee and Orlando, Florida to develop marine sales in the United States.



Present Operation
Currently, Pretech Company manufactures quality industrial and marine parts in the suburb of Seoul, South Korea. The company is manufacturing control cables, levers, steering cable system, and adaptor kits & parts for industrial and marine equipment industry since 1987. In addition, our engineers are constantly developing the series of new marine and industrial products.
